Dear Visitors,

This is a tough decision for me to take, maybe a disappointment for some of you: Discovering Joaquin is definitely closed.

Last year, I was compelled to buy a more efficient server to keep the site online and this led to an important financial investment that I can’t assume anymore. And I’d like to thank wholeheartedly the persons who donated to the site. This was very helpful!

The closing of the site is not only due to a financial reason though. For months we haven’t had any news from Joaquin and I can’t combine anymore the absence of Joaquin’s news with this financial cost.

But A Frightful Dream, Discovering Joaquin’s forum, goes on and you are highly welcome to join us. There we will go on posting the latest news, older or recent articles, older or recent pics… and sharing our passion for Joaquin.

Even if Discovering Joaquin closes, the passion and interest are still vividly alive.

Thank you for your faithfulness and hopefully, let’s meet on A Frightful Dream for further adventures…

For Nuvo, Bill Scheft, one of David Letterman shows' writers, talks about his career and, questioned about Joaquin Phoenix's appearance, reveals that it was all an act!

Nuvo: Tell me what it was like backstage after the Joaquin Phoenix appearance.
Scheft: First of all, that was all an act.

Nuvo: Even Dave’s part of it?
Scheft: Yeah. Think Andy Kaufman without shaving. That’s what he was doing. And Dave knew about it and Dave loved it because he could play along. He could do whatever he wanted with it. And he did, and it was great television. But I will take credit for the line, “I think I owe Farrah Fawcett an apology.” That line was mine. I gave that to him during the break.
Dave loves that. He had a ball. He likes anything that’s good television, and he knew that’s good television.
I’ve told people that (everyone was in on the joke), and not only don’t people believe me, they tell me that I’m wrong and that (Phoenix) is a schizophrenic and he needs help and he’s going to end up like his brother. I said no. I saw the segment notes. It’s an act. I saw Ben Affleck’s brother taping the whole thing from offstage.

Entertainment Tonight has just announced the nominees for the 2009 ALMA Awards (American Latino Media Arts).
Joaquin is nominated among the "Year in Film - Special Achievement Honorees" for Two Lovers!

The awards show will air Friday, September 18 at 8PM on ABC.
